Community during COVID-19

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.."        -Matthew 18:20

We offer many opportunities to continue to grow your faith during this time of COVID-19.

These are our small group opportunities:

  • MEN’S BREAKFAST: The men of SOV meet for breakfast on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesdays of the month at 6:45am in the SOV parking lot. It’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Breakfast & Coffee and your own chair)

  • LADIES BREAKFAST: The women of SOV meet for food, fellowship, and fun each Thursday morning at 8:30am under the pergola at SOV. It’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Breakfast &Coffee and your own chair)

  • BOOK STUDY: “I think You’re Wrong(But I’m listening):  A Guide to Grace-Filled Political Conversations”Who is ready to read and discuss this book (finally)! Please join Pastor Kaila on Thursday, September 3rd at 6:30pm. If you can join by zoom please do, if you can’t you are welcome to come to SOV and wear a mask and bring your own chair.(send Pastor Kaila an email for the zoom invitation). This first gathering we will discuss the Introduction and Chapter 1 (which means please have the intro and the first chapter read if you can). Depending on how many people show up we will discuss dates and times that will work for the group(s). We will meet the next 10 weeks (there are 10 chapters). Here is the blurb describing the book: More than ever, politics seems driven by conflict and anger. People sitting together in pews every  Sunday have started to feel like strangers, loved ones at the dinner table like enemies. Toxic political dialogue, hate-filled rants on social media, and agenda-driven news stories have become the new norm. It’s exhausting, and it’s too much. In I Think You’re Wrong (But I’m Listening), two working moms from opposite ends of the political spectrum contend that there is a better way. They believe that we can

    • choose to respect the dignity of every person,

    • choose to recognize that issues are nuanced and can’t be reduced to political talking points,

    • choose to listen in order to understand,

    • choose gentleness and patience

  • BIBLE STUDY: Sunday, September 13th and September 27th at 3pm join pastor Kaila for a bible study on Paul’s letter to the Corinthians. If you can join by zoom please do, if you can’t you are welcome to come to SOV and wear a mask and bring your own chair. (The zoom link will be posted in the announcements that go out that week.)

We also are offering the following on Facebook:

  • BIBLE STORYTIME & PRAYER: Every Monday (Starting September 7th) Bible Story Time and prayer with Ilaria & Solomon (and Pastor Kaila too) will be posted on our FaceBook page!
